Reader Question:
This guy and I also have been chatting for around three-years. We not ever been in a relationship but have already been intimate on several events.
Recently I desired to go after a commitment. He had gotten angry at myself and told me he’s not prepared. He ended talking-to myself for three weeks. I told him as long as our friendship can last, a relationship just isn’t crucial.
Do you think he can actually change? Must I wait around for him?

Dr. Wendy Walsh’s Response:
Dear Shakia,
He’ll perhaps not alter should you stay exactly the same. All their requirements are increasingly being met right here. They have no reason at all to go into an intimate relationship if he is able to get most of the benefits without the need to devote.
He also tested you by cutting off communication for a few weeks. And you arrived working back to take care of the old, unfulfilling friendship.
My guidance: make sure he understands obviously as he’s willing to have a proper, dedicated, romantic relationship, the guy should contact you, but until then, you are unavailable.
Next don’t get weakened and try to let him draw you back into the outdated program. No texting. No calling. No Facebook stalking.
My impression is this isn’t the man available, but this friendship is somehow maintaining you against fulfilling an extremely fantastic guy.
